Act and Empower was formed to provide a means for thoughtful and dedicated individuals and organizations to engage in projects with a direct impact on the world’s most severely marginalized and impoverished people. While seeking out areas of the most critical need, Act and Empower fosters projects that build capacity, with the ultimate goal of empowering others to help themselves. With an initial focus on Africa, particularly the Batwa people of Uganda, Act and Empower has developed a partnership with UOBDU, the representative organization of the Batwa, to ensure that funds will directly support capacity building projects for one of the most impoverished and marginalized groups in all of Africa.

Get Involved! You will find that your ideas, time and resources will have an immediate impact on the Batwa -- beautiful, yet struggling, people in Uganda. Your support can make all the difference. It is astounding to see the dramatic impact that a modest amount of money or time can have when it is used strategically to support an impoverished child or family. A $30 donation can provide a month of food and nursing care for a seriously ill child in a Kisoro clinic. If you and ten of your friends donate $20, you can rent a parcel of land to enable 20 families to feed themselves for an entire year! An $800 donation can send a Batwa child to middle school, clothe and feed that child for an entire school year, ensuring that the child will be able to read, write and learn skills to pass on to her family and others in her community. No donation is too small -- even $5 can go a long way in Africa! And your donation will not get lost in a large bureaucracy. Within weeks, your resources will be improving lives in Uganda.
